Dear Madonna,
I wanted to write this letter to let you know how your music saved my life when I was a much younger man. It all started when you and I came out together in the early 1980s. I came out to my family and friends as gay about the same time that you popped onto the music scene, and your music has accompanied my life every step of the way ever since.
I didn’t realize just how strongly my life was connected to your music until 2004 when a friend of mine asked me why I was such a big fan of yours. I guess the fact that I had attended your Re-Invention Tour several times that year made a big impression on her. So instead of trying to tell her, I decided to sit down and put pen to paper to show her. And that was what inspired the first rough draft of this story. That’s when I discovered the synchronicities between your music and my life’s experiences.
I submitted that short story to one of your UK fan site’s in the fall of 2004. The feedback that I received was very positive, and it was that positive feedback that inspired me to put a lot more effort into my story-telling.
I spent the next five years working feverishly on my story. I became obsessed with it at times; writing my story became my therapist. It allowed me the opportunity to heal some of the darker times of my past and inspired me to seek out a more spiritual, metaphysical lifestyle going forward.
My story was published online for free between 2004 and 2010, during which time I received more positive feedback from various English-speaking countries around the world. Some readers suggested that the story become a movie or musical, but I knew that wouldn’t be possible without your willingness to sanction your music. The story doesn’t work well without your music. They both seem to complement each other very effectively.
I decided to honor your music and my story by attending a Kabbalah gathering in Portland, Oregon in the summer of 2009. And it was during that meeting that I discovered The 72 Names of God meditation cards. To say that deck of cards spoke to me on a deep level would be an understatement. That deck of cards changed my life in a very big way.
Six months after being introduced to those cards, I was suddenly without a job and an apartment and embarking on a 72-Day journey across the United States. The journey began on February 16, 2010, and spin-offs of that journey are still in progress to this very day. It’s been quite an adventure.
Madonna, I just wanted to take a moment to say, “Thank You” for the music, the courage, the love, and the inspiration. I genuinely appreciate your artistry for it inspires me, frustrates me, and motivates me.
I would be interested in collaborating with you or someone on your team if that opportunity ever presented itself.
Until that day…
Was all it took to seal the future
Just one look from your eyes
Was like a certain kind of torture
There was a boy
And there was a girl
Was all it took to make me falter
Are we supposed to be together?
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
We seal our destiny forever
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Was all it took to change my fortune
Just one word from your mouth
Was all I needed to be certain
There was a boy
There was a girl
Hearts that intertwine
They lived in a different kind of world
Are we supposed to be together?
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
We seal our destiny forever
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Just one touch (4)
Just one look (3)

Are we supposed to be together?
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
We seal our destiny forever
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Are we supposed to be together?
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
We seal our destiny forever
Forbidden love
Forbidden love
Just one touch (4)
Just one look (3)
Just one love (2)
